EntriesI had been a vegetarian on and off for years, but made the switch to vegan around December 2009. I love animals, especially dogs and cats. I quote movies, TV shows and comedy sketches all the time. My favorite color is purple with green a close second. I also like pink. I am something of a girlie girl at heart, but I was in the closet about it for a long time. I have an older brother and an older sister. I’ve been married to my Sweetie since June 9, 2001. We have an Australian Shepherd named Blue, and we live in Connecticut on the urban periphery.
I started blogging, using the Blogger platform, in December of 2001. At first my blog was on a geocities site (doesn’t that sound so old fashioned?!). Sometime in the next year or so, I purchased my own domain. I chose the name missrachel.com because a lot of people (outside my family) call me Miss Rachel. I don’t know why people call me Miss Rachel, but I don’t mind the moniker so it’s all good as they say. In February 2010 I switched to the WordPress blogging platform, but I couldn’t figure out how to get my old blogger posts over here, although I did save the files on my own computer. I found that I liked not having all those old posts up here, and enjoyed getting a fresh restart on my blog. I hope you’ll like it too.
